We’ll start our tour visiting the ruins of Old Panama, which was the first city, built on the Pacific Ocean shore in 1519 by Pedro Arias Davila a Spanish Governor, and then destroyed in 1671 by the greed of pirate Henry Morgan who set it on fire. Then we’ll head about 8 kilometers and reach the Casco Antiguo and enjoy walking along alleys and colonial buildings, ruins and streets of stone, museums and antique churches, where three styles of construction are combined: Spanish, French, and Italian. After lunch, we’ll make a quick stop at the folk art market at the old YMCA building, just before heading back to our hotel.

Day 5 - Panama City/Boquete
Early morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to David, just outside of the city of Boquete. Boquete, a flower-filled mountain valley at the foot of the 10,500 ft. extinct Volcan Baru, is a beautiful small town in the western highlands of Panama in the province of Chiriqui, and it has a beautiful river running through the center of town. The climate is considered nearly perfect, and this is why it's called the "Valley of Eternal Spring". It is also one of the few places on the planet where you can view the Resplendent Quetzal, the rare and considered most beautiful bird in the Americas. While in Boquete, we'll do a panoramic tour around the area, as well as tours in nearby Cerro Punta & Volcan. Your choice of tours include bird-watching, hiking, or a visit to a coffee plantation and processing mills. Lunch included.

Day 6 - Boquete
Full day in Boquete and the surrounding areas. Your choice of tours include bird-watching, hiking, or a visit to a coffee plantation and processing mills. Lunch included.

Day 7 - Boquete/Bocas del Toro (*Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Today we’ll board our flight to Bocas del Toro, our base for the following 2 nights. Bocas del Toro is one of Panama's top tourist attractions, where you can find beautiful beaches, a town rich of history, a lively nightlife and friendly people.

During our stay, great optional tours can be arranged while in Bocas, we recommend the following:

Option 1: Visit Dolphin Bay for some dolphin spotting.
This is an area of marine water surrounded by land. Its calm and safe waters are inhabited by one of the largest dolphin population. Then proceed to Zapatilla, two smaller keys located north of Bastimentos, also part of Bastimentos Marine National Park. They are famous for their beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, coral reefs and small but shady forests, great snorkeling and scuba diving. The western island, Zapatillas Minor, is the occasional base of scientists and conservationists, researchers of the marine turtle.
The leatherback and the hawksbill turtles also come to lay their eggs, in season, on these beaches. On Zapatillas Major there is the Park Rangers refuge, the only habitation on the islands.

Option 2: Swan Cay (Bird Island), Boca del Drago & Star Beach.
If weather permitting, visit Swan's Cay, a small rocky formation just of the coast of Isla Colon, which serves as rookery for Red-billed tropic birds (the only place to be found in Panama) and Brown boobies. Then visit Boca del Drago and enjoy the beautiful beach and search for colorful giant starfish.

Day 8 - Bocas del Toro Enjoy the full day at leisure on the gorgeous beaches, take an optional ride into town for some shopping and local culture, or choose from other optional tours at your leisure.

Day 9 - Bocas del Toro/Panama City
Today we’ll board our flight back to Panama City, arrival and transfer back to our hotel. Tonight we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner & folkloric show at a Panamanian restaurant.
