Day 3 - Santiago/Calama/San Pedro de Atacama
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and pick up for your transfer to the airport. Board your flight to Calama in the north. Reception at Calama airport and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Lunch included. In the afternoon short walk (4 hours approximately, not difficult at all) in the Salty mountain range, which is 23 million years old. We can observe some impressive mineral sculptures made of salt and clay, carved by the wind and the rain. Arrival at the Moon Valley, where we enjoy an amazing sunset. It’s a superb spectacle! Overnight at your hotel.

Day 4 - Atacama Salt Flat/Lagoons Miscanti & Miñiques
Full day excursion to the Atacama Salt flat (2305 m) and to the lagoons Miñiques & Miscanti (4200 m). The salt flat is the biggest in Chile; its surface is more than 3.000 km2. The air is here extremely dry, which makes the view perfectly clear: it’s actually possible to see the other side of the salt flat, approximately 70 kms away. Under the salt flat there is a lake, covered by a thick and rough crust of salt, containing 40% of the world’s lithium reserves (mineral used in some hi-Tec industries, and exploited in the southern sector of the salt flat). Visit of Lagoon Chaxa, where we can watch colonies of flamingos, before we continue to the magnificent lagoons Miñiques y Miscanti on the high-plateau. They are just on the foot of 2 homonymous mountains (Mt. Miñiques: 5910 m and Mt. Miscanti: 5622 m). The contrasts in colours are amazing: deep blue lagoons surrounded by a white strip, yellow vegetation on red and black rocks, snow on the mountain against the blue sky. Return to San Pedro de Atacama, visiting on the way the village of Toconao, an oasis in the middle of the desert known for the production of a huge variety of fruits (due to the lack of arsenic in its waters). At the entrance of the village there is a dam and also two cultivation areas: a plain one, which is a sunny soil where fruits are produced; and the Jerez canyon, narrower and more shadowed, where the runoff flows. The pattern of the cultivation area is the typical pre-Hispanic, made of hundreds of little irregular farms, with a common irrigation system. Visit of the small village and of its interesting constructions built with a local stone called “liparita”. Afterwards, return to San Pedro for overnight in your comfortable tent camping accommodations with box lunch included.

Day 5 - Puritama Hot Springs
Short transfer to Guatin, starting point of our hike to the Puritama hot springs (3500 m) along the homonymous river. We enjoy a pleasant thermal bath in different open air pools with 30º water (approximately 2 hours and a half hike). Descent to the village of San Pedro de Atacama by mountain bike (30 km, unpaved road). Afterwards, return to San Pedro for overnight in your comfortable tent camping accommodations with box lunch included.

Day 6 - San Pedro De Atacama
Horse ride (aprox. 4 hours) in the area of Quitor, Salty mountain range, Death Valley and “Tiempo” Valley. Afterwards, return to San Pedro for overnight in your comfortable tent camping accommodations with box lunch included.

Day 7 - San Pedro De Atacama/Tatio Geysers/Calama/Santiago
Early morning departure (approximately at 4 AM) for the excursion to the Tatio Geisers (4320 m) located on a chalky plateau and surrounded by volcanoes. The scenery at sunrise is unique, with steaming vents and 10 meters high geysers! Breakfast among the vents. Transfer to Calama visiting on the way the village of Caspana: surrounded by fertile valleys and cultivation terraces, it is a very typical village for the architecture in a local stone called liparita and known for the production of flowers and vegetables. Afterwards we visit Lasana and its Pukará (fortress) and the village of Chiu-Chiu, whose nice church is one of the most ancient in Chile. Transfer to the airport of Calama for your flight to Santiago. Arrival, and transfer to your hotel. You will have a box lunch included for the day.

Day 8 - Santiago/Miami
Breakfast included at the hotel. After hotel check out, you will be picked up for a guided transfer to the airport to take your flight back home.
